Everytime someone asks me when my race is – 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run in case you have forgotten – I tell them and follow it with a scream and a “ohmygod!!!”
The number I would give today is 13 DAYS (((scream))) ohmygod!!!!
With the 8 hour workout long GONE, our last mild brick (2 hr/1 hr) DONE as of yesterday, there’s not a whole lot left cushioning us between today and July 31st. Now that the physical is about as good as its gonna get, the mind is starting to work overtime, the doubts, the excitement, the “how the hell is THIS going to happen” thoughts are lurking around every corner in my mind.
I think it’s time for some video motivation.
If you haven’t heard of Team Hoyt, please watch that one. It is beyond inspiring.
And though these videos all are taken from Kona Ironman (THE big one), I’m not doing that one, but an Iron-distance race. But I think the 140.6 miles will feel the same whether it’s the Ironman(Tm) brand or not.
